Hair Element Analysis, Burlington, ONPosted by November 15th, 2016
When you come to me for naturopathic care in Burlington, I may recommend a hair element analysis as a simple way to test for essential and toxic elements in your body.
You may have heard that it is important to make sure your body is receiving the essential elements it needs for healthy cell growth and improved function. You may also have heard about toxins to avoid so your body can heal and function in its best state. While having tests done with blood & urine analysis seems fairly normal, you may also wish to consider a hair element analysis.
- Toxic Elements – Toxic elements can cause damage by interfering with or taking the place of essential elements. One example of a toxic element that may be found during a hair element analysis is lead. We think of calcium as being healthy for our body and our bones, but lead can replace calcium and make our bones less sturdy.
- Essential Elements – Although it sounds simple, essential elements are needed to maintain your health. That is what makes them “essential.” Examples of essential elements include potassium and sodium, which are great for healthy heart function. Other examples are magnesium and calcium for healthy bones.
